Canadian Railroading MEGATHREAD

Title says it all. It’s the Great Canadian MEGATHREAD!

THE GREAT CANADIAN RULES:

  1. Must be directly related to Canadian Railroading

    1. NUANCE: CPKC is allowed (including down to mexico) but I personally do not recognize CPKC as existing. CNs’ american assets (Illinois Central, Northern Minnesota, etc.) are also allowed. The Grand Trunk (and its assets) as well as the Central Vermont are considered Canadian by me and so will be allowed. The SOO line is allowed, however discussion of pre-CanPac SOO should be limited as much as possible. The same applies to CanPacs’ acquisitions in the Northeast US. In addition, any American lines that enter Canada are to be considered Canadian, including the other half of the line in the states (i.e. if X Railroad had a line that started in Somewhere, NY and ended in Somewhere, ON, if the line unceramoniously cuts off at the border, I’ll allow discussion of that line south of the border until it meets up with the rest of the railways US trackage)
  2. Don’t be a moron

  3. Use yer noggin

  4. Have fun

Rules may be added as see fit.

This thread also has the semi-important distinction of possibly being the first thread made on here by someone who wasn’t apart of the dev/mod team. This is shared with Ambers’ livery modding thread.

to kick it off, here’s the first image: Some good ol’ BCRail ALCo 3000 in the year of 1980.

The last time I went to Exporail was June of 2025. Always admired the little 2-4-0 displayed out front.

oh yeah she’s absolutely dinky!

does Canadian adjacent count? like possibly the upper peninsula of michigan?

Nah, sorry man. Gotta be directly related to Canadian Railroading. I will allow things like CPKCs (vomit) mainline into mexico and CNs Illinois Central stuff (and so on), but apart from that no. GTW however I will consider entirely canadian, same with the Central Vermont

If i had to guess, maybe if it goes into Canada.
You should make a topic on your state/region though!

i’ve added nuance to the ruleset. Do read!
